Our Goals

CampaignZERO delivers safety strategies to patients and their family-member advocates to prevent medical errors.

We know that family members especially can be empowered to help zero out those errors—and we’re here to help guide the way.

Our mission at campaignZERO is to foster collaboration among patients, their advocates and health care team. We believe this will result in better quality care and support for medical staff, especially nurses who serve on the front line in every hospital.

We are committed to learning and improving together as a community deeply concerned about safe health care for all.

CampaignZERO has three main goals:

  • Prevent harm and death caused by preventable medical errors
  • Help lower the costs of health care for all, and
  • Help shift attitudes toward problem solving and away from litigation.

These are ambitious goals and here’s how we’re attacking them:

We provide information about the risks and causes of common medical errors (knowledge is the first line of defense!)

We produce checklists to keep patients safe from these common errors

We introduce additional resources to patient advocates

We link patient advocates with the products they need

We partner with hospitals to create programs for family member advocates

We build awareness about the patient advocate’s role in patient safety

  • What’s the Harm in Health Care?

One-third of all hospital patients are harmed or killed by accident every year in American hospitals -- about 13 million patients.

Preventable hospital accidents claim almost 300,000 lives -- equal to 3 jets crashing every single day of the year in America, with no survivors.

Most of these deaths and injury are among older patients, and most result from a strained health care system seriously short on nurses and other critical resources.

  • Our Solution

CampaignZERO offers simple explanations about how common hospital hazards occur and easy checklists to help families safeguard their loved ones' care in the hospital.
  • Why Checklists for Families?

Every patient needs a family member or friend with them in the hospital -- yet few of us are prepared for this important role.

Our simple little checklists can be a big help. Bookmark and Share
